In a notice that did not seem to garner much attention, the US State Department on Saturday issued a notice to travelers to Afghanistan to avoid the area around the US Embassy in Kabul.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan received the following information concerning an imminent threat to U.S. citizens living in Afghanistan:

As of February 2015, militants are preparing an imminent complex attack against the U.S. Embassy compound in Kabul City, Afghanistan, from a location near Massoud Circle. The U.S. Embassy is taking this threat seriously and advises American citizens to avoid the area.

During Obama’s term, we’ve suffered through the loss of four embassies – Lebanon, Syria, Libya, and Lebanon. Will this be our fifth? Only time will tell, but signs don’t look good if we’ve already set a schedule for withdrawal of troops and the enemy is already planning an attack on or primary diplomatic post.
