John Kerry visited Paris this week in an effort to save face for the US having sent virtually no one to the rallies there last Sunday. He also brought National Medal for the Arts winner James Taylor, who sang his famous song ‘You’ve got a Friend’ to commemorate the occasion. There’s nothing that says friendship like standing there awkwardly while someone sings a sappy song to say you’re sorry.
